Supernova Education is a brainchild educational goal to build a pre-school like no other!
We are proudly partners with the world’s leading science based neuro-cognitive developmental award winning program from Australia. This allows us to work with one of the worlds very best leaders in Early Childhood Education, since 1982.
It took us more than a decade working with children, international travels with ECD research, and top quality training before we got confident enough to put our educational idea into practice and finally the Supernova Education concept become a reality in 2019, with opening our first Supernova School doors in 2021.
Our pre-school is a magical childhood experience where the children feel safe and supported in their imaginative and creative journey AND at the same time our learners are exposed to the worlds best practices of local and international education.
Our education is a blended approach of Montessori and it is in line with CAPS (South African Curriculum), and we use literature and folklore as a teaching tool when it comes to children learning to Understanding analytical thought from a very young age.

- Supernova’s program for body and mind literacy is achieved through the aid of well-designed environments never seen before 2019!

Blended Montessori
Our School is a blended educational approach, since the Supernova School team is aware of the benefits of the traditional ECD program and Montessori and for that reason we do not want to create distinctions between the two to prove which one is better, but instead we unite them – identifying and implementing the strong points of both.
The First and the only one in South Africa (since 2019) involving Philosophy of Literature and Folklore ECD Education
- We have a ‘love of wisdom’ and that is why we were able to recognise that South African ECD education is in great need of a philosophical approach that engages both African and Foreign Folklore and Literature, not only in story time, but as a main tool of ECD education. Our approach harvests a huge success based on data captured in our school and from our happy parents’ feedback.
- Today we continue proving that literature and folklore is key for the children to be enlightened to true Africanity and international wisdom and with that, to help children to develop a love for their own and
other cultures in a meaningful way and we welcome you and your family to be part of our journey.
Perceptual Learning
- You probably heard it before, however, let us explain to those of you who wish to lean more 😊
- Perceptual and sensory learning as a philosophical approach in enlightened education, in our view, was addressed for the first time by the father of Western philosophy, Socrates, represented by Plato in Plato’s masterpiece “Republic” . This type of learning empowers the observer to use their five senses (sight, taste, smell, touch and hearing) and with using the senses to discover for his or her own true idea of what is presented as real.
- Today many schools’ ideas such as Montessori and Reggio-Emilia and others base their education on sensory learning.
- NB: Many pre-schools and day care centres tried to copy us, and we are proud to bring about such a movement in education.
Wisdom, in the Heart and Soul of Learning
- Our innovative teaching style and techniques give our learners the opportunity to analyse and use reasoning, in order to achieve true perceptual learning and understanding.
- For us engaging learner’s perception in teaching is far more important than memorising information represented by the teachers as an idea of right and wrong or what P. Frears refers to as “banking education”.
