A Warm Welcome to Supernova Education and Montessori

Our school is part of the PKA group. PKA, provides
accredited by the Department of Education, ECD care based on the overall quality for early childhood
education from 1 to 6 Years Old (Grade R)

Our education is moving with the times as we have been helping young minds develop into their full potential since 2009.

We understand the challenges of working parents and for that reason, our schools are only closed for 3 weeks during December and  Public  Holidays (School Public Holidays) with no additional cost for School Holiday program.

 

Nature and Fun Learning 

 Our school is a farm style nature learning environment which replicates as much as possible, home comfort with small farm animals and vegetables and nature gardens where   children feel free to be who they are. 

 We nurture strong relationships with our learners and their families in our multicultural and nature-loving environments, and this helps us all to make our learners feel loved   and respected .

 

KindyRoo / GymbaROO

We are the South African partners of KindyRoo / GymbaRoo (world’s leading science-based neuro-cognitive developmental award-winning program from Australia).

This allows us to implement and incorporate KindyRoo into our education and work with some of the world’s best researchers in Early Childhood Education since 1980.

CAPS and MONTESSORI

Our core education is a blended approach of Montessori and it is in line with CAPS (South African Curriculum).

In addition, our signature approach incorporates literature and folklore as a teaching tool when it comes to children learning to understand   analytical thought from a very young age.

Blended Montessori

Our School is a blended educational approach, since the Supernova School team is well aware of the benefits of the traditional ECD program and Montessori and for that reason we do not want to create distinctions between the two to prove which one is better, but instead we unite them – identifying and implementing the strong points of both.

Our signature program involving philosophy of literature and folklore 

• • We have a ‘love for wisdom’ and that is why we were able to
    recognise that South African ECD education is in great need of a philosophical approach that engages both African and Foreign
    Folklore and Literature, not only in story time, but as a main tool of ECD education. Our approach harvests a huge success based on data
    captured in our school and from feedback from our happy parents. 
  • Today we continue proving that literature and folklore is key for the children to be enlightened to true Africanity and international wisdom and with that, to help children to develop a love for their own and other cultures in a meaningful way and we welcome you and your family to be part of our journey.

Perceptual learning 

• You probably heard it before, however let us explain to those of you who wish to learn more 🙂

• • Perceptual and sensory learning as a philosophical approach in enlightened education, was addressed for the first time by the father of Western philosophy, Socrates, represented by Plat This type of learning empowers the observer to use their five senses (eyes, taste, smell, touch and hearing) and with using the senses to discover for himself or herself,  a true idea of what is presented as real.
  • Today many schools, such as Montessori and Reggio-Emilia and others base their education on sensory learning.

   

        

Wisdom, in the heart and soul of learning  

• • Our innovative teaching style and techniques give our learners the opportunity to analyse and use reasoning in order to achieve true perceptual learning and understanding.
  • For us engaging learner’s perception in teaching is far more important than memorising information represented by the teachers as an idea of right and wrong or what P. Frears refers to as “banking education”.
